If you like anchored characters, look no further! This Sneezer Shroom (U) can (1) anchor on boost (2) with an arrow ability to self-anchor (3) and a support ability to anchor a character. Truly the anchoriest mushroom!
The “anchor on boost” line rightfully puts it on the watchlist alongside other mass-anchorers. I’m glad I got the chance to play with this one, but I look forward to these uniques being rebalanced in the next season patch.
I included this Sneezer Shroom (U) in the Teija & Nauraa deck I brought to the AQZ Championship on 2025-04-10, where it went 6-0 for 2nd out of 107.
The deck
I haven’t played a ton of Teija, so this list cribs from the proven low-to-the-ground plants build. The gameplan is to put your boosts on anchored plants to produce stat output over multiple turns that no other hero can match.
The premium rares are Spindle Harvesters (R) and Aloe Vera (R). If you can stick one of these, it’ll start providing a consistent flow of cards in the form of resupplies. Resupplying into a Muna Caregiver (C) or Muna Druid (C) lets you reanchor them to keep the train going.
For this reason, one of the best D1s is a Spindle Harvesters (R) + a way to give it a second boost: ideally Ogun (F), but Sow and Nurture (C) are great too.
Floral Tent (C) is the breakout Teija card from Trial by Frost. It’s a 1-mana after-you that doesn’t go down on cards thanks to the resupply it spots you. You can lead with it or set it up on a previous day to make removal less effective on your anchored plants. If your opponent wants to de-anchor a plant, they’ll often have to give up an expedition that day. The best-case scenario is the Tent resupply hitting an anchor support ability.
I’ve really liked three copies of The Spindle, Muna Bastion (R). One well-timed removal spell can shut down your entire gameplan, and tough 2 often shuts the door on that possibility. The rare’s extra value is nice since I’d keep the common in so many matchups anyway, but what pushes it over the edge is the ability to instantly turn on a Spindle Harvesters (R) when played alongside it on D2: one boost from Teija and one boost at noon to trigger the resupply.
After playing with this list some more, I’ve decided it leans too heavily on value-over-time anchored characters, especially for only having one mass-anchor unique. Due to lacking some explosiveness in the form of cards like Lyra Thespian (F), it suffers if I’m unable to get an anchored board going early enough, either due to removal or luck of the draw.
A character-light draw can struggle, since it won’t be able to support the Coppélia (U), and Loki (U) won’t help early-on.
If I were running it back, I’d consider at least the following swaps:
- -1 Sneezer Shroom (R)
- -1 Kodama (C)
- -1 Nurture (C)
- +1 Lyra Thespian (F)
- +1 Sneezer Shroom (C)
- +1 Yong-Su, Verdant Weaver (C)
Uniques

Sneezer Shroom: 7/7
This unique is on the watchlist for good reason. It boasts the coveted “anchor on boost” line. If ones of these uniques is played as Teija’s first character, it will receive a boost and immediately reanchor a character that was anchored from the previous day. When followed up with an Ogun (F) or Nurture (C), you’ll effectively reanchor your entire board. A Lyra Thespian (F) boosts then anchors itself.
The “if you control two or more boosted characters” line is a very lenient restriction, since you really only want to play this if you already have a character on board. If you do, it’s likely that’s an anchored character which received the Teija boost from a previous day. Then, this receives today’s Teija boost, making it your second boosted character.
What makes this Sneezer Shroom egregious is that it automatically anchors itself. That means that the character that receives the Teija boost on the following day triggers the anchor ability again. If The Spindle, Muna Bastion (R) or Dracaena (C) grants a boost at noon, this will reanchor something.

Coppélia: 6/7
Ignore the first line of text on this Coppélia (U). You want to play this on a day when you already have an anchored character out. Every character you play afterwards lets you distribute two boosts. She pays for herself once the first character is played and starts to get out of control from there, especially if you’re boosting onto anchored characters.
This combos especially well with the Sneezer Shroom (U) above. Each character you play anchors two characters, one of which can be Coppélia herself.

Loki: 6/7
I’m including this Loki (U) as a tech card against heroes like Afanas and Fen. They’re able to use the early-game to sculpt their hand to let them pick apart at your board in the late-game; Loki singlehandedly counteracts all their hard work. If you’re starting the day with anchored characters, they’ll often have to work not to go 0-2, depleting their resources even further.
The games
Matchups:
- R1 (W): Sierra & Oddball
- R2 (W): Sierra & Oddball
- R3 (W): Sigismar & Wingspan
- R4 (W): Lindiwe & Maw
- R5 (W): Afanas & Senka
- R6 (W): Afanas & Senka
R1 (W): Sierra & Oddball
My R1 opponent encountered an unfortunate bug with Frozen Reprocessor and Machine in the Ice that prevented them from taking actions. Despite the bug, I believe I was favored to win, thanks to a D2 Sneezer Shroom (U) that comboed with Coppélia (U) on D4.
R2 (W): Sierra & Oddball
The Sneezer Shroom (U) came down on D4 on a board with an Aloe Vera (R), two Spindle Harvesters (R), and The Spindle, Muna Bastion (R).
R3 (W): Sigismar & Wingspan
- Spindle Harvesters (R) + Sow (C) let me set up an anchored resupplier on D1. The threat of Ogun (F) forced my opponent’s Baba Yaga (F) into the opposite expedition.
- I resupplied into The Spindle, Muna Bastion (R). I was happy to go 1-2 to get it down early and turn off Teamwork Training (C) and Tiny Jail (C).
- My opponent self-slept an Ordis Attorney (R) to just 1-1 but set up for the next day.

What's the best sequence for this day?
- Using the Sow (C) support ability on the Sneezer Shroom (U) immediately reanchors both plants, leaving the rest of my mana open for other plays. If there’s removal, I’m free to replay it. If The Monolith, Ordis Bastion (C) comes down, I have mana for Lost in the Woods (C). Otherwise, Loki (U) in hand means I don’t care about the Ordis Attorney (R) drawing, so I’m free for Ogun (F) to boost my anchored board and anchor itself.

Loki sends my opponent back to square one.
- As the first player, Loki (U) discarded my opponent’s four-card hand and two-card reserve, including two uniques among them. With my perma-anchored board, this effectively ended the game.
R4 (W): Lindiwe & Maw
Floral Tent (C) protected an Aloe Vera (R) on D2. A pair of Aloe Vera (R)s resupplied me through the mid-game until The Spindle, Muna Bastion (R) arrived on M7 to turn off future removal.

Which two cards get kept? What's the sequence for the next day?
- I kept Floral Tent (C) and Aloe Vera (R). Floral Tent (C) is crucial to pass priority and make removal less effective. I can safely lead with it instead of the reserve Aloe Vera (R) since I have a backup in hand. As it turned out, leaving the Aloe Vera (R) in reserve baited my opponent into a Belasenka (C) to exhaust it. I was able to anchor the other from hand anyway, which effectively neutralized the effort they put into the exhaust.
R5 (W): Afanas & Senka
I set up anchored resuppliers protected by a D2 The Spindle to outstat Afanas and turn off their removal.

What does this day look like?
- This looks like a pretty juicy Loki (U). I’d prefer to wait to Loki (U) until after playing the Spindle Harvesters (R), but that lets Afanas play their Kadigiran Mage-Dancer (R) before I can empty their reserve.
- However, an immediate Loki (U) likely forfeits an expedition and leaves me with no anchored characters on the following day.
- I noticed that double Spindle Harvesters (R) + one or two Ogun (F)s ends up being a perfectly fine day; it likely goes 1-1 and sets me up to win tomorrow. If my opponent goes for an immediate sabotage/exhaust on the second Spindle Harvesters (R) (which they did), I can follow-up with Loki (U) to prevent the Mage-Dancer replay and start the next day with an anchored Spindle Harvesters: best of both worlds.
R6 (W): Afanas & Senka
My opponent sabotaged the Sneezer Shroom (U) after it went to reserve. Loki (U) wiped their 5-card hand and 2-card reserve, but their Off You Go! (C) top-deck kept them in it. My opponent chose the wrong sabotage target, and Loki (U) from reserve slept their character for the win.
